Festathon is an annual tango event in Cheltenham UK.

We have combined two words “festivity” and “marathon” into one and it became FESTATHON.

At our event we want to celebrate our love for tango, to enjoy dancing tango, meet people who share the same passion and make new friends.

We believe that tango unites ALL people.

Our event is a role balanced event, which means that the number of leaders and followers will be balanced. We also accept dual role dancers, if they genuinely dance 50/50 as leaders and followers.

We are asking all our event attendees to follow tango etiquette.

We encourage dancers to use the mirada and cabaceo if one wishes to ask someone to dance. We think it is polite to catch someone’s eye (the mirada) in order to ask them for a dance. This gives leaders and followers the option to glance away if they are not currently interested in a dance.

We ask everyone to follow the line of dance and form inner dance lines if there isn’t enough space in the outer one. Our event usually has at least 300 people and we want everyone to have great experience.

During the Festathon weekend we offer over 30 hours of dancing in a beautiful Cheltenham Town hall with a real wood sprung dance floor.
